A: Standard text messaging rates apply. For instance, many cell phone plans have free minutes that allow you to receive text alerts for nothing. On the other hand, you may be charged up to 5 cents per alert.
Q: How do I sign up to receive alerts from a campaign?
A: There are three ways to sign up for a candidate's text alerts. First, you can sign up at the website of the candidate who is using the Mobilelect platform. Second, you can sign up at the mobilelect.com website. (Simply scroll down in the "Sign Up for Alerts" area until you find your candidate's name.) Or finally, you can send a text message to 27538. Type in the last name of the candidate as the subject of the message. For instance, text "Ford" to 27538. Send the message, and follow the instructions from there.
Q: I want to stop receiving text alerts from the campaign. How do I do that?
A: You can do that at the candidate's website, or the mobilelect.com website, or by texting STOP to 27538.
Q: When I sign up, is my phone number kept private?
A: Absolutely. Your phone number can only be used by us to receive the service you are signing up for, that being the receipt of alerts from the campaign.
